Some of the important things you will have to do when you arrive, are to find a place to live, get your Social Insurance Number, your Permanent Residency Card and to make sure you register for government Health Insurance.
There are many fun, free activities for families in Guelph and Wellington County. The EarlyON Years Centers are places where parents and caregivers can participate in programs and activities, get information and answers to their questions, all for free! The Public Libraries in Guelph and Wellington also have free programs and activities for children and families. In the Summer the splash pads and wading pools are great places to cool off and meet other families. There are three museums which provide fun for the whole family. In Guelph, you can visit the Civic Museum and McCrae House, and in Wellington County you can check out the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
