There are two key immigrant-serving organizations that support the settlement of newcomers in Guelph Wellington:
- Immigrant Services Guelph Wellington (ISGW) is an immigrant services organization providing a range of programs, services and supports for newcomers to the Guelph Wellington area. ISGW operates programs for seniors, youth, conducts language assessments, interpretation and offers workshops on a range of topics such as credential recognition for internationally trained professionals, banking in Canada and employment opportunities in Guelph Wellington.
- Wellington County Settlement Services is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. It connects newcomers and immigrants to Wellington County and Guelph with a full range of services including financial, employment, housing, immigration, citizenship, health care, childcare, daily living, banking, interpretation and translation. Services are provided through the main office in Fergus and via other locations in Erin, Rockwood, Mount Forest, Drayton, Arthur, and Guelph. Together with other County of Wellington departments including Ontario Works, Housing Services, Child Care Services and the Employment Resource Centre we ensure that all our clients’ needs are met quickly and efficiently. All services are free to those with Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee, Temporary Resident Permit or Live-In Caregiver status.
